Hello Lovely, I hope this letter finds you well.
When this letter arrives in your inbox, i will be in Aberdeen, Scotland. Now as you might have guessed, this isn’t where i usually live but it will be my home for the next 12 months.
I am doing a voluntary year in a community for people with learning dissabilities and special needs. This is all very exciting and it will take some time for me to adjust to my new surroundings, new people and new daily rythms.
This is where the future of Meadow Journal comes in.
I do want to note that this is not a good bye post what so ever. It might be a ‘see you later’ one, but i am not done with Meadow Journal and our little community!
In the past when i have been away from home, experiencing a lot of new things i feel the need to stay very present. But only present with my immediate surroundings. Family and friends tend to hear less from me, i disappear into the real world, and don’t like sharing it with others who are not a part of it.
This includes the online world, even more than friends and family. In the past i have paused all activity on the internet, be that Instagram or Substack. This has happened several times so i can see a pattern.
At the same time writing has become such an integral part of me, a way of coping with big thoughts, questions and emotions that i probably won’t be able to go long without writing.
But wether i feel like sharing any writing i do not know.
My current plan is to pre write a few posts that i can schedule and that will be sent out automatically to give me time to settle and find new routines and see how writing will fit into all of this.
At the end, my real life and everything connected to it will always come before any internet community. As much as i enjoy communicating and connecting with all of you, my life in the real world is and will remain my number one.
So no promises of regular writing will be made, i will see what happens, how i feel and what i want to share.
See you on the other side.
Pippa xxx
I wish you wonderful new days Pippa... you have chosen an adventure that will be so very rewarding but also humbling too - I have spent the last five years teaching children with learning disabilities and difficulties and I can honestly say I have learnt as much from them as they have from me..
Good luck lovely lady - I will look forward to you letters when ever they appear xxx
Pippa! What an exciting new step in your journey. I wish you all the joy and happiness, and I’ll be here reading whatever and whenever you write! 🥰
